The first Scusset beach family session of the season! Not a cloud in the sky for this one (and a little more company on the beach than we expected) but we managed to get some very sweet, fun family images and the boys had a blast!
This session was before Labor Day, and because of that beach-goers were out in full force. The best time for beach sessions is after labor day, if you can find a weekday where the sunset time corresponds with the low tide time. The combination of those three things is the perfect beach session scenario! But even without that, we found some space alone and had some fun!
With two little ones, we start out trying to keep outfits crisp and nice for a few portraits before letting them play and splash. I love the simplicity of this first image.
Then we wandered to explore the edges of the tall grass that surrounds Scusset beach. I love this location because you can do a complete 360 and never see a car, telephone pole, or house. It’s jus beautiful from any angle! This is so important in a beach location especially because you are at the mercy of the changing light.
The little guy on dad’s shoulders has the best expressions! He was loving the ride, as you can tell!
This is the boardwalk that goes from the parking lot to the beach. I love the leading lines and textures in this scene, and try to use it for every session there. Finally, when we were almost ready to leave, enough people were gone and we were able to commandeer the boardwalk for a few moments. Once again the little guy steals the show!
I absolutely love Scusset Beach, and bring my family there quite often in the summer months. If you are looking for a Scusset Beach family session I’d love to talk to you!
