On days like this, I feel a little spoiled being a Cape Cod family photographer! This weather was absolutely perfect! It was our second attempt, after mother nature rained on our parade the week before. I’m so glad we waited because the light this evening was just beautiful! I met the S Family for the first time on the beach, but of course I had talked on the phone to the Mom many times before. We chatted about the kids, what each one was like, and what she wanted to accomplish during the session. So yes, it was a first time meeting, but it sure didn’t feel like it!
In September on the beach sometimes you can hit it just right and nobody will be there. This was one of those days! Look at how amazingly peaceful and beautiful it is! This first image is one of my favorites. I usually don’t like the walking away shot without the subjects looking at each other and having interaction between them. This one works so well because of the multiple, repeating shapes the hands make, and the texture of the beach. I thought it was stunning in black and white!
During full family sessions there aren’t any time constraints for the most part (well, except for the sun in this case!). There is plenty of time for individual photos, sibling photos, even one of just mom and dad! When was the last time you had a nice photo of you and your spouse? Such an great thing to add to the yearly professional collection of images of your family!
Jumping images show how little, youthful, and full of energy kids are! The littlest one between mom and dad looks like she’s floating!
If you are looking for a Cape Cod family photographer I’d love to hear from you! I can tell you all about my favorite beaches to photograph on and the key to planning the perfect beach session!
