I see this wonderful family every year, and was so excited that for the first time mom and dad were joining in on the session! Walpole photography at Bird Park is always wonderful because of the variety of spots. For one location, it’s pretty great! The D Family has been coming to me for years. That little guy was barely standing when I first photographed him!
The family outfits look great, with colors coordinating but everyone showing their own style. Little Matthew’s shirt ties in the burgundy and the blues beautifully! We started with more traditional poses on the brick bridge. After that we moved to another area and started to move a little more, make a little more noise, and have a little more fun! I think this session shows a good example for the need for multiple poses and how important it is to have time in your session to relax, have fun, and really capture the family being together and in the moment! Plus, choice is a good thing and this family has lots to choose from!
These three are always well behaved and fun to be around! We took some time in the middle of the session for individual portraits of each of them. I always make sure to get images that will look good together on a wall. There are verticals that show more of the child’s body, and a close-up horizontal that gets close to their ever-changing individual features.
Images that have motion in them are so wonderful. Whenever I set something like this up, we do several “takes” to get it just right. Someone may need to adjust an arm or body stance. If everyone in the group is really into it, this type of image is a blast to do and it shows! I decided to share an outtake just for fun. The little guy got really into it and almost went upside down!
