As a North Attleboro documentary photographer one of my favorite types of sessions are Unscripted sessions. This is a special project I started during the winter months of 2016. In previous years more and more families would tell me they wanted candid photos of their family. Those real moments are very hard to get, however, when everyone is in a new location and the pressure is on to get that perfect family photo. So I thought and researched and came up with a short, sweet, way to capture family moments. I tried it on three families and it worked wonderfully every time!
The key to Unscripted session is to let kids be themselves. I ask clients to have the children (and parents!) involved in a project when I arrive, with other activities ready to jump to when the time is right. It can be anything from a board game, coloring, building, singing, you name it! As long as the family is having fun together we will get great images!
The girls were into their games when I arrived. They hardly noticed I was there! Mom was great at interacting with them and ignoring the camera.
After some excitement with the beehive game, it was time for a little quiet with some Legos. The girls were very into their work!
Then Mom and the girls made a family favorite – chocolate chip cookies! She commented to me that she cooks with the girls all the time, but didn’t have any photos of those moments. I hope they treasure these when they get older!
Snuggle time with mom and dad is always fun! There’s another little one now, so having a few of just the four of them is so sweet and special.
Then it was upstairs for play time!
Thank you for letting me into you home! I loved capturing these moment for you!
