Another year of Holiday Card Mini-Sessions in the books! If you haven’t heard of these, it’s a special day I set aside each year for the littlest of mini-sessions! The goal is to get one amazing, kick-ass image that you will be proud of sharing during the holidays. Cards, gifts, and updated walls all get to share the included jpeg. The goal is a mantel-worthy holiday card image. It’s 10 minutes, short-and-sweet, and just right for getting one image. Perfect for families wanting a special outfit, color scheme, or for those who already had a full family session throughout the year. I take into account any notes that clients have, like if they have chosen a special card and need space on one side, top, or bottom.
This year we went to a local park on the most perfect fall day. Morning and afternoon sessions took place at different locations, and each family was moved around just a bit. I won’t have cookie-cutter images coming out of my studio!
There is always a snafu with these events, and this year it was a car accident that blocked a road nearby. My clients are AMAZING and flexible and we got everyone in! Besides juggling the schedules the day was fabulous. All the kiddos were camera-ready and so well behaved. Even the dogs that joined us had fun!
For each family the goal was to get some variety (the spice of life, right?). This first one is a perfect example. We started with one formal photo of the family. Nicely posed, gorgeous light. Moved in closer for a different crop, then asked them to tickle the kids. That’s always the favorite and the was no exception! Looked amazing on the family card!
Here are a few more studio and client favorites! Couldn’t blog them all but this selection is a great example of what we do on Holiday card mini-session days.
